audioenhancer.app ("we", "us") is a small online tool, run by an independent developer, that removes steady background noise from recordings. This page explains what we collect and why. Questions: [email protected].
Files you upload
- We store the file you upload only to process it. It is deleted right after processing. If you only use the free preview, the upload is kept for up to 24 hours so you can still choose to clean the whole file, and then deleted.
- Cleaned results are kept for 72 hours so you can download them, and then deleted.
- We do not look at, listen to, share or sell your files, and we do not use them to train any model.
- The file name you upload is kept with the order record (see below) so we can name your download.
Information we keep about use
- A visitor cookie (
ae_vid): a random ID that keeps your uploads private to your browser and lets us apply the daily free limits. It is not used for advertising and is not shared. - Your IP address: used to apply daily limits and to stop abuse. We keep it with the daily counters for up to 7 days and with upload and job records for up to 30 days. Our hosting and network providers also see it as part of delivering the site.
- Basic usage events: which pages were viewed, which site referred you, and steps such as "upload finished" or "preview played". These are tied to the random visitor ID, not to your name or email, and are kept for up to 13 months to understand how the tool is used. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising scripts.
- Upload and job records: file name, size, length, timestamps and status, kept for up to 30 days to run the service and handle support requests.
Payments
Payments are handled by PayPal. We never see or store your card details. From PayPal we receive the order ID, the amount, the payment status and the email address of the PayPal account, which we keep as long as needed for accounting, refunds and legal obligations. PayPal's own privacy statement applies to the information you give PayPal.
Who else is involved
- Cloudflare — delivers and protects the website; all traffic passes through it.
- Contabo — hosts the server where your files are processed.
- PayPal — processes payments.
We do not sell personal information.
Your choices and rights
You can delete the cookie in your browser at any time (you will get a new random ID). You can ask us to delete records linked to an order or to give you a copy of them by writing to [email protected]; please include the order or job ID. Depending on where you live (for example the EU, the UK or California) you may have additional rights, and you may complain to your local data-protection authority.
Children
The service is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
